Hey everyone!.
Just new here, thought I’d put up a thread of my mk2 jetta big bumper model.When I bought her there was a rat look theme and a black bonnet, but i prefer a cleaner look. She was a 1.6 straight diesel. On the plus side she had coilovers and was fully poly bushed. First intentions were to just polish her up and get her on the road quick but once I started I didn’t know when to stop..I had no intentions of starting a build thread so the pictures are mostly from my phone and there are times when I took no pictures when I should have, so here goes...



Stuff I’ve had done so far:
-Full respray in a bright white
-Fitted a 1.6 td engine
-Newton Commercial sound deadening
-Newton Commercial black floor cloth
-Golf lights and grill
-Doorcards and parcel shelf re-upholstered in black cloth
-Bora gt tdi seats, front and rear

-New radio and speakers for the doors and parcel shelf

yeah i got a set of steels banded, thinking about it, not sure what to do yet..

Where'd you get them banded? First dibs if you don't use them!!

some local boys get them for stock cars but i could try and find out where they go

well I must get them sprayed first, She won't be on the road for a couple weeks yet but if I leave them on her it'll give me a chance to save for rims

There's a boy out the road from me makes them for stock cars.. it was 150 for the 4.....
i waited ages and ages for mine to get finished. They could be ready in 2 days or it could take 3 months

na i got a lad to spray it for me, didn't want to chance ballsing it up..
must get a better picture up when i get the kit back on and get her lying on the ground

what kind of rims are they or what width of a band were you thinking?..

theyre 14" jetta steels would like them banded from 6" to 8" and 8.5"

when i was getting mine i couldn't get a 3.5'' band because he only works in inch increments
so it'd be going for a 2 inch or a 3 inch band.. bit of a bugger really
what's the best way to resize a picture to 1mb?

small update..
this is the car back on the floor with 13 inch steels off my golf..

and i stuck 15 inch hubcaps on to smarten her up a bit..

and just a picture of the seats installed..

the back seat is higher than the original but i can live with that

he's a friend of my cousins.. bit rare though and doesn't answer strange numbers.. i had a bit of welding to do myself after they came back to make sure they'd hold air, if you want a set i'm sure we could work something out

so anyways, got the plastics back on the car..

and from the back

this is how low the car's sitting on the front but bear in mind this is without a splitter

still have a few wee jobs to do over the next couple days but i'll try and post updates

just put the hubcaps on as a temporary job, getting the bandeds painted now next weekend..
so i'll decide which will be staying on when i see the bandeds on
hopefully get it on the road at the end of the month...

have a new battery, have plates there from eireplates.ie and I just got a set of hid's tonight..

Paint looks mint, likin the hubcaps. I love banded steels cant wait to see them on the car
