set of mk1 sills for ya, the mk2 sills are different, but if i remember right the mk1 golf sills sre pretty much the exact same, bar the ends of them.

its coming on great, looking at the pics im amazed it hasnt fallen off the spit.
best of luck and keep it up.

I have Mk1 sills alright Donie but there cheap pattern parts same as them, What i was asking was, was there a difference between the old mk1 with the straight ahead indicator or the 'newer' mk1 with the wrap around front indicator (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif) . Just to confuse matters. Westdubber sorted me out away, thanks again.

Some more pictures of work carried out:

(IMG:http://i1115.photobucket.com/albums/k547/Qbritgohm/3rd%20lot/P1100250.jpg)

And the driver back arch:
(IMG:http://i1115.photobucket.com/albums/k547/Qbritgohm/3rd%20lot/P1100238.jpg)
(IMG:http://i1115.photobucket.com/albums/k547/Qbritgohm/3rd%20lot/P1100237.jpg)

(IMG:http://i1115.photobucket.com/albums/k547/Qbritgohm/3rd%20lot/P1140266.jpg)

Im going to stick up more of the arch done, in a while.
Im happy with the progress and the fact that nearly one side is solid. Cant wait to start fitting bits that arent supposed to be there.
Comments and suggestions, good or bad, very welcome
Thanks
Steven

Out of gas for the moment, so I started trying to figure out how to shoe horn in an engine. Im using a AGR TDI engine and gearbox off a SEAT toledo..hopefully..

Gonna try and use the bulkhead of the SEAT
(IMG:http://i1115.photobucket.com/albums/k547/Qbritgohm/4%20apr%202012/P4050377.jpg)

The Engine:

Trying to figure out how mate it all together.
Gonna use the subframe of a mk3 vento with the wishbones and steering and drives off a mk2.
Its gonna be slightly wider but shouldnt be too stupid looking.. hopefully

For reference: top to bottom Mk3 mk2 mk1
(IMG:http://i1115.photobucket.com/albums/k547/Qbritgohm/4%20apr%202012/P4050389.jpg)

Mk1 mk2 mk3
(IMG:http://i1115.photobucket.com/albums/k547/Qbritgohm/4%20apr%202012/P4050392.jpg)

Subframe
(IMG:http://i1115.photobucket.com/albums/k547/Qbritgohm/4%20apr%202012/P4050400.jpg)

using the engine mount of mk3/mk2 means the turbo is in the fecking way:
(IMG:http://i1115.photobucket.com/albums/k547/Qbritgohm/4%20apr%202012/P4050397.jpg)
(IMG:http://i1115.photobucket.com/albums/k547/Qbritgohm/4%20apr%202012/P4050394.jpg)

Anyone have any idea for this?

actually if anyone has put a mk4 engine into a mk2/3, what did you do to use the mounts? the gearbox one doesnt work great, i can grind it to fit thou, and the one off the starter is a odd too. and do you have to use a turbo and manifold off a mk3 or something?

Can you not hang the engine in the scirocco mount, I know you would have to make new ones for the gear box (like any 1.8T/20V/02A conversion) Do you really need the mk3 subframe? I am no 100% myself either, is that engine a PD,why Diesel in a mk1 scirocco, would a 2.0L petrol unit not look better and be way easier to fit, you would retain the mk1 running gear and suspension, save lots of agro and be lighter.

Sorry for all the questions.

most people make a custom mount or cut a piece out of the original mount to let the turbo fit
