Skyline mod looks great! How long did it take you? Cost much in total? Nice carport btw Cheers man! I think they were €58 delivered, they are hand-made PCB rings and SMD LEDs that match the OEM light colour. Think they took about 5 or 6 hours work time and a night to dry. Had to open the lights up (i.e. break the lens off), and remove the reflectors etc., modify them (needs a VERY steady hand and a Dremel) Then mount the rings and seal them back up. I used Serious Glue, its kind of a silicone sealant too so watertight and slightly movable. And clear too. Then seal em back on the car with black silicone. Then had to wire them in. I now have 2 reverse lights (way better!), the rings are fog lights too, brighter than the stock setting. And took some vagcom coding too. Looks great at night! And the carport is at herself's house! sorry do i meet u comin out of ringaskiddy nearly every mornin? i drive a 08 jetta with german plates? Don't think that's me at all anyway man! I am never around that area. I live in Macroom there's couple of lads on here that have LC5F Passats, but mine is the only one with OEM Xenons, the biggest way of recognising mine! Sam -------------------- |

The skyline lights look sweet Sam, keep up the good work (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) haha cheers Andrew mate. she's actually off the road at the moment. skyline lights malfunctioning too. She's off the road due to gearbox trouble. Gearbox broke, diff smashed a huge hole of it's own inside the bellhousing. So as we speak she's getting a PD150 240mm DMF and clutch, FMH 6-speed 02M gearbox and linkage and 108mm CVJ drive shafts (all MK4 spec). -------------------- |

Haven't updated in a while so here goes...
Fitted the 02M gearbox, ended up damaging the front bearings fitting MK4 130 driveshafts, so those were sent back to be replaced with shafts from a B6 Passat 2.0TDI 02Q. Still having a few Can-Bus errors (fuel gauge, speedo, ABS, ESP, Auto-Hold, EPB, PAS etc) from the lack of speed signal. Bearings are on order from eBay, and so is a new rain/light sensor from a guy in UKPassats, to cure the automatic wiper problems. Had a small bump the other evening so need a new drivers indicator and lower grille, using the opportunity to fit fog lamps while I'm at it. Details on the gearbox swap over on TDIClub. Big thanks to Ronan (ronan), Jonathan (dieseljohnny) and Ryan Parkin of Darkside Developments for all their help. As far as I know the only 6-speed 1.9TDI Passat in Ireland, Ryan has done a few conversions in the UK. I now have the 240mm clutch so will be planning to up the power a bit when finances improve. Looking at a Borg-Warner BV43 turbo from a TDI Octavia etc. Car should be all sorted and driving perfect again this week. -------------------- |

Nice motor Sam... so much work! Ha thanks Andrew mate... She's coming along nicely. Got a few mods planned in the near future when I can order the parts. On the lookout for an exhaust from a C6 A6 but they are like hens teeth! -------------------- |

Got a fright yesterday after the car flashed "Steering Column Lock Defective", nearly had a heart attack!
Luckily, scanned it with Ronan's help. New battery and all is well, confirmed my suspicions of control modules throwing their toys out of the pram an a low voltage! Got my interior illuminated handles done, my red overhead ambient lighting for the rear passengers, and the door entry courtesy lights as well. -------------------- |

Replaced the 2 front bearings, and cleaned the ABS sensors. What a bloody pain! Rounded all 4 bolts holding the bearing on on the nearside. Whereas the offside came off and on no problems.
Had to cut the bearing mounting "ears" off and bash the bolts through from the front, came out a treat after a treatment with the Dremel mini grinder. Now have everything working again as it should, but no cruise in 6th (car thinks it's in neutral) as need to change the engine coding or something to that effect. A change of tyres in the form of KevC's old Cades Bern 18x8s on Ultragrips for the bad weather. And got the Bi-Xenons working with the shutter for proper OEM+ high spec!
