Vcds - How To Switch Display From Miles To Km?

Welcome to the forum.

You have to change the coding in the clocks from the UK to Europe. Anybody with vcds could do it in less than 5 minutes.

Thanks for the reply kevinm. I have the VCDS software and cable. I just need to know what settings to change.

I was messing with this one night, it changes the mpg to litres/100 km but didn't change the odometer reading from miles to kilometers. Maybe its certain clocks you can change it in?

You need to change to country setting to 1 for europe . The text below is from here

{Instrument Cluster}

Control Module Coding

Select 17 (Instrument Cluster)
Coding -> Function 07

00??x0x: Extra-Options

+01 - Brake Pad Warning active
+02 - Seatbelt Warning active
+04 - Washer Fluid Warning active
+16 - Sedan (Jetta)

00xx?0x: Country-Setting

Note: Germany is coded as Europe, but 0 is a valid for germany.

1 - Europe
2 - USA
3 - Canada
4 - Great Britain
5 - Japan
6 - Arabian States
7 - Australia

Can you do the reverse?? Change from Km/liter to miles per gallon???

Yep, your country setting should look like: 00xx10x. Change it to 00xx40x and it will be miles.
