my dad has the Autel VAG405 code reader, it's about 18 months to 2 years old.

it's perfect for his needs, reading trouble codes and turning out warning lights etc

Anyway, he came up against an issue with a '09 Seat Ibiza, he can't delete the oil service reminder using the VAG405. It's the first time he's come across the issue. I tried upgrading the software on the machine but there's no upgrades available from either Autel or Sealey.

Any ideas?

I don't believe Autel has added UDS/ODX communications support as yet. Until recently, VCDS was the only tool in the aftermarket with that support.

The instrument cluster and some other modules in the '09 Ibiza have this new communication requirement. Short of a tool that can talk in that language, you cannot do the work.

Trevor, Im trying to update my Vag405, I have the new firmware 2.7, is that what you tried?

I not sure how I get the update onto the machine? I downloaded the maxiscan software on Autel site but it only has options for
other machines.
