There was a 150bhp version, but only produced for India. Bad fuel apparently was the issue.

I was under the impression that they were all 180bhp but were the first ones called RS's i thought the vRS was first coined on the Fabia diesel.

na they were ment to be called the octavia RS but ford went Ape shit that Skoda were going to use the RS badge and said they would sue, SO skoda add a small v infront of the RS to read vRS.....the v standing for two fingers to Ford....ie FUCK YOUR RS. and that story btw is straight from the guys in the skoda factory.

vRS is a UK thing.
Did the motorcheck lookup on mine at the bottom of the page and it gives back this Skoda Octavia RS 200HP 5DR -------------------- |

Don't know if its true but I heard that the "v" is not actually a V as we know it but is the Czech symbol thing above the letter S on Skoda. The badge in every country has vRS on it, and the v is embossed on the seats and on the gear stick and on the mats. It does seem to be a UK thing alright though where they actually call it "vRS" and not just RS as everywhere else.

It's a tricky one. No-one knows for sure! All we can go with is what's written on the back!

If you look at the Irish brochure for the Octavia its down as Octavia RS both on the registration in the picture and in the text, if you look at the UK one its Octavia vRS on the registration and in the text.
