Quality of the dubpower stuff is savage.

Decided on a 2.0L 16v Engine

Got a 16V KR
and a 16V ACE

and a 2.0l 9a

Scirocco inlet Manifold from ebayuk
it's the 42mm one, there's also a 50mm one available but not that easy to get and more expensive
there's a good few debates on forums about which is better like This one
but what i get from it is, 42mm one for more down low power and 50mm one for more top end power,
all the threads seem to have pro's & con's for both but i think this 42mm one will suit me best,
It's mentioned that the larger inlet is best for 1.8 engines and the smaller for the 2.0 engine

& inlet pipe from germany

This is a picture of the original 1.8 8v DX Engine
i'll be able to use the airbox from this engine and leave it in the same place,
just take off the dx mitering head and bolt on the kr one,
this is the reason i'm using the scirocco inlet manifold, to keep everything
much the same as original

that dubpower manifold looks savage wesley,i found heat wrap to be dear @ murry motor sport
i got 10m of it from e bay fairly cheap.from what ive read they say the 1.6 8v metering unit is the best to use.iirc they done a test over on the mk1 owner club an the 1.6 one showed to be the best
what are you going to do for the engine loom wesley? some people use the mk1 asv and leave off the isv.i got talking to your man from cr enterprize and he reckons that the engine would never run right with the mk1 asv.some people said that there car's would always cut out at traffic light's etc.i got my hands on the rocco 16v loom off a man in dublin, but your man at cr enterprize reckons you could make up a loom fairly handy unsure.gif,he did send me links to web sites to buy all the wires and connectors from tho.but the rocco 16v loom plugs into the mk1 fuse box no bother + the isv loom is built into it unlike the mk2's.i must have a dig out in the garage as i'm sure ive a few spare bit's that would come in handy for your 16v swap.

Have a 16v engine loom here if you want it and you can bring up my mk2 when the time comes to wire your 16v if it's ant use to you.

Thanks Dan if you have any bits that would help that would be great for me,
i got some heat wrap from dubsport so hopefully i should be ok.
the metering head i have here from the 16v kr will bolt of the mk2 air box
and bolt straight on to the mk1 air box this is what i was going to do, but if thats
not the best way i should be doing it please let me know, cheers, as thats most of
the reason for this members car thread,
i want to put this engine in right and wire it up with all the original bits

in the next short while wink.gif
