Considering the big heavy diesel going in I think its my safest/best option. (All what i just said could be wrong, (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mellow.gif) ) No not a PD engine, It came in mk4s around 00. Why a diesel in a scirocco? I hope you know your not the first person to ask me that (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) . Petrol would obviously be handier, but i couldnt afford to drive it. this scirocco has targets it must meet, one is > 60MPG, Geezus i love diesel (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) -------------------- {{scirocco Mk1 '78 in process}}

Ronan is running his 270+bhp mk1 off the original mk1 mounts.
You can buy supports that help reduce stress on the car or make your own. A friend of mine got 540bhp from his mk1 abf turbo and it's bolted to the standard mk1 mounts. -------------------- I do not consent to any and all of the material i posted on this forum(VAGdrivers.net) being used to create revenue for this or any other company.

60 mpg is nice and with the current price of fuel probably not a bad idea at all. I have never heard of a mk1 engine mount coming off, I guess with the subframe taking the stress it never will. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

I might be talking arse will the subframe, but i convinced myself months ago. Not much happening with my project since the last update I'm afraid, between going on a J1 for the summer and back to college, I didnt get much time at it, the subframe is in thou which is a nice milestone:
