Hi guys,

I'm just off the phone with Joe and we discussed a considerable saving if there was a group interested in getting the remaps done. There is talk from a few guys already so I'm throwing it out there for anyone else looking for a remap at a discount.

Good thing is we would not have to turn up at a certain time and place to avail of the offer. Just show your interest here and contact Joe with details of your car and when you want the remap done to avail of the group buy.

Prices would depend on car but for anyone involved in the group buy here they will get a further discount.

So in the interest of fair play and getting you lot to commit (harder said then done in some cases ;-)) there will be a deadline on this group buy. Noting set yet but I will discuss this with Joe later today.

So reply here to show interest and check out www.chippedire.com for performance gains and info on your car.

Dave, post remap my car felt great. Standard 150 bhp and it went okay as you would expect but wouldn't set your world alright. I wanted to get it RR'd fist but the child inside me wanted more power asap haha. But I had no reason to believe the car was lacking any of its standard BHP figure.

Afterward, its bloody flying. So free revving and smooth. Obviously if you gun it from a standing start you are going to be mighty impressed but thats not what its all about. The engine is much more flexible, the turbo works at lower RPM and is happy to spool up much earlier and over taking is a breeze. Top end the car is a beast I can't put it any other way.

Of course I had to give it a high speed test when bringing it home on the queens motorway and its was gutsy, noting to be ashamed off but late last night I had it up in triple figures and had more punch and I'd be happy to say it would hit 140+ if called for. As standard it just didn't feel as responsive when cruising at 100+.

Try get a spin in a remapped car and that will make up your mind for sure. You will be straight on the phone to Joe asking how soon he can get your car done

Thanks lads, I think I'm sold on the idea now. It's just that I've had 4 years troublefree motoring and want to keep it that way for a while more, but obviously I want more power

dave i dont need to say much more as mark has summed it up in a nutshell.its an amazing difference and it doesnt ruin the way the power comes in so smoothly before joe remapped the car it just that its more aggressive.i hope this makes sense!

Got back from Joe's a little while ago. I agree with you and Mark, it's much smoother now and definitely more aggressive above about 4500rpm. I didn't want an all or nothing power delivery and Joe tuned it that way. Joe tells you what he's doing all the way (not that I had a clue) and certainly knows his stuff. Gerhard was up getting T5 done as well. It was good to meet yiz. All in all, a great job.

me 3. Bloody awesome thing. Remapped DSG box to go with the ECU. Class

Joe, Is it too late to jump onto the Group Buy for the Remap.
I havent put my name down because I am waiting on a "NEW" ECU to arrive from Germany as my current one is dead...
I am expecting the new one to be fit next week some time!!

What is the cost for MK5 GTI remap on the Gp Buy?
If my new ECU causes problems again. can the remap be taken off for warranty?
Tell me more about the "Remapped DSG Box"???
I have DSG......

Cheers
Keith

Hi Kieth , its not to late .. how is your ecu dead? if you let me take a look at it i could copy the settings and put it onto an other second hand ecu

regarding the DSG with some cars you have to change a few setting on how the Engine management interacts with the dsg ecu , its to keep the changes smooth

The settings are hidden with in the ecu and cant be traced

Give me a call and ill explain ,, others are watching

Thanks for the beer Gerry , will be drinking them tonight!!

Christ. We gotta hook up and let me get a spin. In the Passat the 1.8t can haul ass but in a Golf it must be just wicked.

Any idea why your pushing 212 instead of 192 like me
Does your 1.8t have a different turbo or something like that?
