Hi guys, I figure a good lot of you work in offices and will be down with printers, so, I am looking for a recommendation...

I need a mono laser printer for a small office. I've read reviews etc., but I'd just like to hear first hand from people who are using them currently.

Wireless capability is not necessary. I just need something that is robust and will keep churning out the sheets, with a decent yield per cartridge. Double sided printing would be nice, as it seems to be a common enough feature, but not a necessity...

Go!

Yes, excellent prices on their office desks and storage stuff. A brilliant find.

I'll be in there for hours!

Thanks.

Top man.

It's times like this I am glad I have an Avant, with roofbars, and ratchet straps!

Ronan, no more than a car, be careful buying secondhand printers.

Work out roughly the throughput you anticipate and if at all possible buy new or at least from a known source where the history is known. Make sure you get price for the consumables too. If it's small office the likes of Komplett should have something of interest be that wireless/networked.

Yeah I reckon I will buy a new one, they aren't exactly expensive, as in, there are plenty to choose from for less than €200 from what I have seen! I just need to find a good ratio between yield and price of toner...

I'll hit that other place up for the furniture for sure though!

Thanks Mike!

@ Simon: Thanks for the recommendation for AuctionXchange. I went there on Monday and jammed the Avant with stuff. I shall return there numerous times in the future I dare say!

Thats great to hear Ronan, did you just walk in and pick and pay or was it an actual auction you went to, what sort of stuff did you buy and what were the prices like, did you have to pay VAT on top of the prices advertised etc ? Im actually looking for a few bits and pieces myself......

I just rocked up with the back seats flat and filled the car with two filing cabinets and a huge office desk.

The FCs are second hand but in perfect nick, including two keys each, and they are not brown or grey! one is dark blue and one is white. How radical of a fililng cabinet company to do such a thing. They were listed as €41 and after commission and VAT they were €56.

Here is the desk I got. Listed as €65 and after add-ons was €91.

They also have new FCs which are still wrapped in cardboard and cellophane, at €80 after add-ons I think. But they are all brown or grey so I passed on them!

The place is unbelievable, they have a section upstairs with bathroom stuff; baths, jacuzzi insets, shower cubicles, bedroom stuff etc.

Loads of random stuff too like motorised pedal bikes x 2, couple of beer taps (Bulmers and Becks inclucing pipework), some nice old furniture, fifty million office chairs, computers, printers, phones, POS systems etc.

Mad place altogether. Even better when you have someone elses cash. Kiwi guy at the desk is cool too. Let me off with the €50 charge for first time bidders / buyers!

Do it.

Sound for that, I will spin over next week, unfortunately it will be my own money though (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)
